Three of Scotland's Universities Join Forces to Promote Entrepreneurship to Alumni

The Scottish Institute for Enterprise encourages Scotland's universities to work together for greater success.

The universities of Dundee, Abertay and St Andrews, in conjunction with Scottish Enterprise Tayside and the Small Business Gateway, are jointly hosting a seminar for alumni this Saturday (17th November) at the West Park Centre in Dundee, the first inter-uni project to be planned following SIE's £2m funding award last month from the Office of Science and Technology.

'A Practical Introduction to Entrepreneurship' will offer 75 alumni the opportunity to hear local entrepreneurs talk openly about the different aspects of starting and running your own business giving tips on everything from assessing market potential to how best to finance your business.

The speaker line-up includes Dr Danny Ruta of The Mindwarp Pavilion who will be talking about his own experience of setting up a business and Andy McNab of Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire who will be discussing business plans and business planning.

The Scottish Institute of Enterprise (SIE) aims to stimulate the spirit of enterprise in Scotland's universities and has been actively encouraging universities to combine resources, providing them with funding to support such events.

You are invited to attend the event that begins at 9am on Saturday morning in the West Park Centre.
