A friendly and welcoming environment is very important for those seeking advice so interior design students at the University of Dundee have been busy putting together new designs for the Citizens' Advice Bureau offices in Dundee.

Morley Truscott, director of the CAB Dundee will visit Duncan of Jordanstone Faculty of Art and Design this afternoon to present the winning student with their award of £100.

Twenty one third year students studying interior and environmental design were asked to prepare proposals for the interior of the Citizens' Advice Bureau in the Seagate. CAB is housed within a listed building dating from 1907 which formerly housed the Loyal Order of Ancient Shepherds.

Morley Truscott, manager of the Citizens' Advice Bureau: "The Board of Directors and staff of the bureau were aware that much could be done to improve the internal efficiency, atmosphere and image of the premises for staff and clients. We are confident that the students' ideas will produce imaginative and cost-effective solutions."

The students took on the five week project as part of their third year studies. Lecturers Colin Fraser Wishart and Roland Ashcroft have submitted the work of six students to CAB for consideration and the winner will be announced in the college today./ENDS
