New appointment
David Yule has been appointed Director of Campus Services and will see through the 5 year, £200 million
strategy to realise the Campus Vision.
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, the Geo-tech Institute and the refurbishment of DUSA are currently
under development and the foundations are being laid for the new Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and
the Applied Computing building housing the Queen Mother Research Centre. A number of other initiatives will
follow including new buildings for residences, the Faculty of Education, teaching facilities, CEPMLP/CROW,
IT Services, Nursing, Archives, Clinical Research at Ninewells and an extension to the Library.
These developments will have a positive impact on everything from the University's ability to attract
high-class staff, students and visitors, to the quality of the working environment on campus. New communal
areas also form an essential part of the campus plan, promoting a pedestrian focus and creating a green
"oasis" close to the city centre.
David has been employed at the University for 14 years and was formerly Architect, Project Manager, Assistant
Director (Projects) and latterly Acting Director of Estates and Buildings.
He said: "It is an exciting time to be appointed as Director of Campus Services as we have grand plans for
the campus that need to be driven forward carefully with minimum disruption for the University community.
The Campus Vision will realise one of the best city centre campuses in the UK for the University of Dundee."
