Running for Yorkhill in the Netherlands
A University of Dundee law student who has been touched by the illness of his young cousin is about to
run the Leiden marathon to raise money for the Fraser Allander Unit at Yorkhill hospital in Glasgow which
treats children with rare brain disorders.
Adam Balfour who is spending his third year studying at Leiden University in the Netherlands will run the
Leiden marathon on 13th June to raise money for the Fraser of Allander Unit at Yorkhill hospital.
Adam's little cousin was born with birth marks on his brain which have caused him to have several strokes
and severe epilepsy. He received major brain surgery at Great Ormond Street last week. His cousin Adam
wants to raise money for the Fraser Allander Unit in Glasgow where he has been treated to help other
children and say thank you to the committed staff in the Unit.
Adam, who is from Queenspark in Glasgow will return to the University of Dundee in September for the
final year of his law degree.
Adam won double awards for his studies in law at the end of his first year. He won a prize for excellence
in law and came top of the constitutional law class.
