Computer technology behind TV coverage of the championship tennis at Wimbledon will be the focus of the British Computer Society lecture at the University of Dundee tomorrow, May 14.
Roger Blake, a technical leader with IBM's world-renowned Academy of Technology will speak about the computer-supported coverage for BBC TV.
State-of-the-art technology underpins coverage of the event, from measuring the speed of serve for the benefit of the audience and relaying this instantly to commentators, to accurately detecting whether the ball is on or out.
To find out more, come along to the lecture room at the University's Micro Centre, Department of Applied Computing, Park Wynd, at 6.30pm for 7pm. Entry is free.
