Ken Russell inspired exhibition

Four artists inspired by the films of cult British film director Ken Russell will exhibit their
work in the exhibition 'Dance of the Seven Veils' in the Cooper Gallery at Duncan of Jordanstone
College of Art and Design, running until 15 April.
Lali Chetwynd is exhibiting her homemade stage props including animal masks and costumes from some
of her recent surreal exhibitions. The young artist is also currently showing in London's
prestigious ‘Becks Futures’ exhibition.
Olivia Plender, recent artist-in-residence at the University of Dundee's Visual Research Centre
will display her comic strip inspired by Ken Russell's opinions on what makes an artist a genius.
Visitors can also see London based artist, Pablo Bronstein's Ken Russell inspired stage set and
Adam Chodzko's film, where he invited back the unsung extras, of one of Russell's most shocking
films 'The Devils', to talk about their experiences.
The exhibition is accompanied by photo-journalist Michael Peto's images of the Ken Russell film
shoot for 'The Dance on the Seven Veils'. The images form part of the Michael Peto Photographic
Collection at the University of Dundee Archives.
The exhibition can be seen in the Cooper Gallery, Exhibitions Department, DJCAD, 13 Perth Rd,
Dundee until 15 April. Opening hours are Mon-Fri: 9.30am-5.30pm, Sat: 9.30am - 4.30pm.
