Double donation for TICR
Photo opportunity: 2.00pm, today, Wednesday 2 March, TICR, Level 7, University of Dundee Medical
School, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee
The University of Dundee's Institute for Cardiovascular Research (TICR) will be presented with two
cheques at Ninewells Hospital later today. Professor Hugh Tunstall-Pedoe and TICR Chairman, Robert
Mclaren will welcome trustees of the William S Phillips Fund when they donate a total of £3000 to
the TICR campaign.
Born in Dundee the late William Sangster Phillips died in 2001 just shortly before his 100th
birthday. William left no family and wanted the income generated from the residue of his estate to
be used for charitable purposes. Fund trustees, Walter M Craig and Norrie Robertson, a solicitor from
Blackadders, Dundee will present a cheque of £2000 to TICR on behalf of the fund. Walter will also
take this opportunity to make a personal £1000 donation.
The TICR campaign is raising funds for a new Institute for Cardiovascular Research bringing
together a team of specialists in five medical disciplines to enable detection and intervention of
heart-related diseases at an earlier stage.
