Discovering degrees
Photo opportunity 1pm, Wednesday 3rd March, Dundee University Students Association, Balfour Street,
Dundee.
Over 75 S2 pupils from schools in Dundee and Angus are spending today at the University of Dundee to see if
they enjoy University activities and help them decide if they would like to apply to University later in
their school careers.
The pupils will be in the real lecture situation with tutors and will be engaged in activities set by
lecturers in architecture and life sciences.
Lunch will be served in the Dundee University Students Association where the pupils will get a taster of the
recreational facilities and services on offer at the University of Dundee.
Dr John Blicharski, Director of the Wider Access Study Centre said: "Our Discovering Degrees programme allows
school pupils and adults to gain a valuable, free, insight into what undergraduate study is like. By
providing face-to-face help and advice, we aim to help advise those at crossroads in their lives decide
whether university is for them. This "taster" route has already resulted in dozens of students entering
university - indeed one of the first people to attend this programme went on to graduate last year with a
degree in Law."
