The University of Dundee today welcomed the annual funding announcement from the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council which shows particular recognition of Dundee's contributions to international calibre research and to wider access.
The University of Dundee's grant total increases by 5.3% to £50,189,000 for 2003-4 - the largest percentage increase of the Scottish universities.
Principal and Vice Chancellor Sir Alan Langlands said: "At a time when the longer term financial climate of higher education is uncertain we are pleased to see the latest funding figures. Dundee combines a strong commitment to attracting talented students and promoting the highest quality research - almost half of Scotland's five star life/medical scientists are based at the University of Dundee.
