The delicate relationship between seals and salmon in the Tay will be an issue for discussion at the Tay Estuary Forum's annual conference tomorrow, March 14.
Dr Marshall Halliday from the Esk District Salmon Fisheries Board will discuss his suggestions about how seal numbers, which have increased in Scottish waters following the introduction of the 1970 Seal Conservation Act, can be managed so that other species, such as salmon, do not suffer.
The topic is one of several on tomorrow's agenda relating to "the wise and sustainable use of the Tay estuary and its adjacent coastline", which the Tay Estuary Forum was set up to support.
Other topics include sound beach management in response to recent beach quality research and an overview of future plans for the development of Dundee's waterfront.
The conference takes place at the University's West Park Centre from 10am until 4pm.
Photo and interview opportunities with delegates available between 9.30 and 10am at the West Park Centre, or by arrangement through the Press Office.
