The University of Dundee today welcomed the annual funding announcement from the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council which increases the university's overall funding for teaching and research by 4.8% to £47,439,000.
Principal Sir Alan Langlands said: "We are pleased to see that the university's recent powerful performance in the Research Assessment Exercise is reflected in a boost to research funding of 9% - one of the highest percentage increases for the research-strong universities. We are also pleased to see recognition for Dundee's continued commitment to widening access in the teaching allocation which, this year amounts to £34,165,000."
