The issue of women and embodiment is the theme of the first of two workshops organised by the University of Dundee as part of the Dundee Women's performing arts festival.
"Body Matters" features a discussion on representing women's bodies in art, led by Kerstin Mey, from Duncan of Jordanstone's School of Fine Art and local artist Fiona Smith. Duncan of Jordanstone graduate Morag Muir and artist Louise Johnston will talk about how the role these issues play in their own work.
The free workshop takes place at the meeting room of DCA tomorrow, Saturday March 9, from 10am until 1pm.
The second workshop, "Bridget's Workout", takes place on Saturday 16th March from 10am to 1pm.
Gayle Low and Marion Wynne-Davies from the University's Department of English and consultant psychologist Linda Treliving will look at the representation of women's bodies in film and literature including Bridget Jones' Diary and Muriel's Wedding.
Participants will also be given the chance to create a word and image collage to express some of the issues discussed during the session and are encouraged to contribute passages and images of their own.
