The School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee is turning red for Comic Relief. Professor Sir Philip Cohen and Professor Sir David Lane are among staff pledging to wear their red noses and take part in the Weakest Link competition at their annual department meeting this weekend in Pitlochry.
Professor Peter Downes, Head of the School of Life Sciences, has been challenged reveal his chin after 20 years under his beard before the staff compete to see who is the weakest link in the School of Life Sciences with a TV style competition.
On a more serious note, the BioDundee lecture sponsored by Scottish Enterprise Tayside will be delivered by Professor Tony Pawson who will address phospho-dependent proteins and the cell cycle. Professor Pawson is Canada's foremost scientist, where he is currently the Director of the Samuel Lunefield Research Institute, Ontario. He is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Upstate Discovery Ltd, Dundee.
