2004 Strathmore Trophy winner announced
With their Lego robot, a team from Lochgelly High School, Fife has scooped the 2004 Strathmore Trophy
at the University of Dundee's Division for Applied Computing. Now in its ninth year, a space theme
dominated the annual event this year.
The Lochgelly High School team beat 11 other local secondary schools to scoop the award with a robot that
negotiates a simulated planet landscape to seek out a light source. Mary Dowager Countess of Strathmore
kindly donated the trophy and was on hand to present it to the winning team.
The Strathmore Trophy competition is held annually by the Division of Applied Computing to get local
school pupils thinking about applications of computer technology to help people.
