A student who came to study at the University of Dundee on an exchange from Copenhagen will graduate
tomorrow with a first class degree. Benedicte Pedersen, a twenty-nine year old Graphic Design student
joined Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in her third year but stayed on after her exchange
ended to finish her degree.
Benedicte joined the University on an exchange from an art school in Denmark, 'Seminariet Formgivning'
to study Graphic Design in January 2003. After completing her original six-month exchange period Benedicte
wanted to stay on for her final year as a full time University of Dundee student. After displaying high
standards of work during her exchange Benedicte’s course tutor agreed that she could stay on to complete
her degree in Dundee.
Benedicte will pick up her First Class Honours degree on Friday 25 June at the special Design graduation
ceremony at Bonar Hall.
There won’t be much time to celebrate her success as Benedicte will then take part in the 'New Blood'
Exhibition in Billingsgate London the following week.
Benedicte said, "I am delighted to receive a first class degree. After I had been here for my exchange I
knew I wanted to return to Dundee to finish my degree and am positive I made the right decision."
