Children at Abernyte Parish Church will present The Institute of Cardiovascular Research (TICR) with a sum of money that they have raised through their weekly offerings.
The children who attend Sunday school have raised £100 for TICR and will present the money to TICR chairman Robert McLaren at their service on Sunday.
Chairman Robert McLaren said: "I am delighted to receive this cheque from the children. Local people are pulling together to support this cause and it is every sum like this that will allow us to establish TICR.
Steve McSwiggan, a research nurse at Ninewells Hospital recently raised £645 for the The Institute of Cardiovascular Research by organising a golfing trip to Alyth.
TICR aims to slow, stop and reverse cardiovascular disease. As Scotland is top of the European league in heart disease it is crucial that everyone gets behind this campaign.
