Over the next two months, the University of Dundee is holding two inspirational art exhibitions called Inspiring and Inspired.
Inspiring has been created by former staff including, Dundee's most famous painter in the 21st century, James McIntosh Patrick. His original painting of 'Portrait of Alex Russel' is on display. Also Alison Mckenzie's famous picture called Road to Sorrento (1934) and Will Maclean's postcard series no 2 (1991).
Inspiring is now on show in the University's library and will run until 17 July.
Inspired is a collection of work by students of the University of Dundee who have become successful artists. Ian Scott who's picture titled 'On the retirement of Jon Maclead senior guards man at Wick Railway station' (1986) and Jaqueline Marr Untitled (1999) are two of the successful graduates who are featured in the exhibition.
Inspired is now on in the Lamb Gallery in the Tower building at the University of Dundee until 22 June.
Museum curator Matthew Jarron said: "Inspiring and Inspired is an eye-catching collection of works. Duncan of Jordanstone will open its degree show on 14 June and this exhibition is a great complement to the show - displaying the work of successful past students and staff from the art school."
Both exhibitions are free and open to the public.
