GRADUATES 12-HOUR EXTRAVAGANZA
Students graduating from Dundee University this year are to enjoy the biggest party Dundee University Students' Association has ever organised. Costing over £60,000 to stage, and backed up by months of planning, the 12-hour extravaganza Graduation Ball is on course again to be a memorable night for the 1600 attending graduates and guests.
The event, which will be held across both campus grounds and the Students' Association itself on Saturday 13 July, will feature a host of different attractions. String quartets, seven bands, DJs and a ceilidh will be mixed with free fairground rides, entertainers, barbecues, a champagne reception and breakfast to provide the night's (and day's) entertainment.
Setting up the site will take over three days, as campus grounds are completely transformed to include the fairground, marquees, live stage and feature lighting. Over 150 staff will play their part in organising and hosting the occasion.
Matthew Marr, DUSA President, said:
"Each year since we began hosting the event on campus it has just got bigger and better.
"Graduates in the past have raved about the night they've had, and the higher budget and extra attractions we are putting on this year should ensure the event surpasses even last year's success."
Tickets are on sale now from the Students' Association at a cost of £25. For more information, call DUSA on (01382) 221841.
