6 June 2002
Residents in Dundee's West End will be hoping for some good weather on Sunday (9 June) for the West End Summer Festival. The event, which is taking place on Magdalen Green, from midday onwards, will have a variety of attractions for young and old.
There will be a number of stalls for everyone to visit, and different types ofve music, from pop music to classical. Children of all ages can take part in some of the sporting activities, including races, and a West End inter-pub tug-of-war.
Dundee University Students' Association has helped organise the event, allowing them to develop further links with the local community. They are already represented on the West End Community Council through President Matthew Marr, who has also worked with the festival committee.
All staff and students of the University are warmly invited to attend on the day.
