Two prizes will be awarded to students at the opening of the annual exhibition at Duncan of Jordanstone at the University of Dundee tomorrow.
Andrews Dodds who will graduate with a first class degree in fine art this month will receive the Denny Collie Associates Award of £750. The prize will be presented by Denny Collie himself.
The James Collier Urban Design Award for excellence in urban design will be awarded to fourth year student Neil Rankin. Neil intends to use his money to travel in Europe this summer to further his understanding of urban contexturalism in preparation for his fifth year studies.
The James Collier award is sponsored by PJMP architects in Edinburgh to recognise the remarkable contribution made by James Collier to architectural education in Dundee. James Collier recently retired from teaching at Duncan of Jordanstone and was famed for his hilariously cryptic speeches to the annual student ball.
The annual exhibition of graduating students' work opens to the public
on Saturday 16 June.
