Triple crown for medical student
Elena will be available to be photographed outside the Caird Hall after the morning graduation
ceremony on Friday 2nd July.
A medical student who has been awarded a clutch of three prizes will graduate this Friday (2nd July) from
the University of Dundee.
Elena Ross (23) from Haddington will graduate on Friday morning having been awarded the Captain W A Low
Prize and Medal for the most distinguished student in the graduating class, the Jean Herring prize for
the most distinguished female in the graduating class and the Bonnetmaker prize for understanding of
medical sociology and psychology in project work.
With ambitions to be a GP, Elena is staying in Dundee next year to do her first year’s training in
Ninewells.
She said: "I am very happy to pass my medical degree so the prizes are just an added bonus. My Mum and
Dad have been a great support to me throughout my degree and I couldn’t have got to this stage without
them."
Also taking two prizes each were Claire Stubbings, Robin Sanderson, Kathryn Dunne, Eystein Hoddevik, Andrew J Innes
and Joanne May Sloan.
Elena and the other prize winning students will graduate on Friday morning in the Caird Hall in the
ceremony for the Faculties of Medicine & Dentistry and Education and Social Work.
