Three Textiles students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee, have scooped top awards at the prestigious New Designers 2003 event in London.
Linda Florence, Juliette Botterill and Emma Barfoot saw off competition from hundreds of other entrants from all over the UK, and the triple win means DJCAD has fared better than any other college in the country.
Linda, from Motherwell, received the British Contract Furnishing Association Award for the Future of Design in the International Marketplace. She will embark on an all expenses paid nine-day trip to Dubai to exhibit her work at the major Index Trade Fair.
Juliette, from Marykirk, won the Tigerprint/ Hallmark Future of Design Award, receiving £1000 and a work placement.
Emma, from Northern Ireland, picked up a cheque for £1000 after winning the Brintons Future of Design Award.
All three will graduate at the Caird Hall this Thursday, July 10.
A spokesperson for the University of Dundee said, "We are delighted with the success of Linda, Juliette and Emma in the New Designer awards. To have not just one but three students named as award winners from amongst hundreds of competitors from all over the UK is an outstanding achievement which not only reflects the students' individual talent but also the fine teaching which is offered at Duncan on Jordanstone College, University of Dundee."
