A full time staff member at the University of Dundee will graduate on Friday after completing her degree one week after giving birth to her baby girl.
Norma Rodley (37) from Dundee decided to study for a BSc to challenge herself and to enhance her skills for her job at the University - Information Technology trainer. Norma studied part time for five years taking a variety of different courses in computing, IT, philosophy, psychology and geography.
Just seven weeks ago Norma was due to sit her last exam when she gave birth to a baby girl Abbi Jay. She managed to juggle her first week of motherhood with revision for her final exam and passed with flying colours.
Norma said: "I'm really glad I decided to study for my own satisfaction. Studying while working full time - and then towards the end with my baby - can be difficult and demanding. I've done it now though and am delighted to graduating this week."
Norma's husband Dr David Rodley is the DisplayMasters co-ordinator - a postgraduate course in display technology in the Division of Electronic Engineering and Physics. He will be at the Caird Hall to see Norma graduate on Friday 12 July.
