Funding for trips to Australia and San Francisco have been given a boost by the Scottish International Education Trust which has just awarded grants to two post graduate students at the University of Dundee.
Louise Morrison (23) from Fife, will travel to Australia next month to give a presentation at the 5th international conference on cynobacterial toxins. She said: "I am very pleased to receive this generous grant of £1,500. I'm looking forward to meeting other researchers telling them about the work we are doing in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee."
David Dornan (24) from Glasgow is taking his research to California, presenting data to the Salk Institute in San Diego and companies Genetech and Tularik in San Francisco. David is a cancer researcher in the department of molecular and cellular pathology, working on the tumour suppresor p53 gene. David: "I hope to set up research collaborations between the University of Dundee and the Salk Institute in San Diego while I am in California. I am delighted to receive the grant as there are not many awarded. It is an honour to represent the University."
