Dr Iain Murray of the applied computing department at the University of Dundee is launching a special present for the Queen Mother's 101st birthday on 4th August.
For the first time people using Microsoft's flight simulator will be able to download an image of Glamis Castle complete with its Italian gardens to fly their aircraft over.
Dr Murray wanted to create a computer simulation that would be widely used to honour the Queen Mum's heritage in Tayside and her connection with the University of Dundee. The Queen Mother was the first Chancellor of the University when it became independent in 1967 and held office for ten years presiding at graduations in the Caird Hall.
The simulation can be downloaded from www.flightsim.computing.dundee.ac.uk
