University press officer Carol Pope is among those planning to walk over the Namibian Desert (and return!) to help raise funds for the Maggie Caring for Cancer network.
The charity are planning to build a new centre, designed by Frank Gehry, at Ninewells, starting in October. The trek - 80 miles in six days - is only part of the challenge. The real test is to raise a target of £2,500 each by mid September.
