Work starts on Dundee University Students' Association's £4.3 million refurbishment

photo of DUSA's new plan Work started today on the refurbishment of Dundee University Students' Association. This summer building work is the first in a series of interlinked projects that will see the main DUSA building at Airlie Place completely refurbished over the next three years.

The summer work will double the capacity of the hugely successful venue MONO to over 1000, to be completed in time for Freshers' week. The entire project, which is predominantly self-funded, will see the creation of a roof top nightclub, with panoramic views across the city and Fife.

There will be an extension in the size of the building allowing for a state of the art Debating Chamber and a brand new welfare department. Redevelopment will allow DUSA to build the biggest games room in Scotland, as well as a new shop and coffee bar.

President David Cunningham "This redevelopment is the result of a huge amount of work over the last two years and will provide the students of Dundee University with the best student services in the UK. It is a huge investment in the University and also in the City of Dundee, and highlights Dundee University's commitment to providing the best University experience possible for its students."
