Advanced High Biology pupils from Forfar Academy are taking advantage of Discovery Days at the University of Dundee to listen to some of the University's newest professors elucidate their latest findings in their areas.
The sixth year pupils will get the chance to hear Professor Cheryl Tickle, whose subject is developmental biology, explaining the formation of the human limb, Professor Graham Ogden assessing the dangers of oral cancer and Professor Kees Weijer looking at cell movements which shape the human embryo.
The pupils will be treated to lunch in the Dundee University Students' Association and given a tour of the School of Life Sciences.
A University spokesperson said: "We are delighted to welcome the senior pupils from Forfar Academy to the University for Discovery Days. Discovery Days is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the fascinating research that takes place in a University. We hope that the biology sessions will inspire these pupils to pursue their scientific studies and become scientific enquirers of the future."
