Tracing the Past
If you would like to trace your family tree, but don’t know how, a free course will point you in the right direction.
Experts will show you how to use Brechin library and museum to discover things about how the town came to be the place it is today - and what it was like decades ago. You’ll also be given help to trace local relations - some Brechin families can be traced through several generations by using the local archives.
Aileen McGuigan, Community Learning Officer for the University of Dundee says, "People are often curious about their history - and the past of the place they live in - but don't know how to start investigating it. This free course is a fun easy way to get all the skills you need to be able to trace your family tree and discover a little more about Brechin and the surrounding areas."
The course is for six weeks, every Wednesday morning from the 22nd February, 9.30am to 11.30am and will be a great way to find out more about your area and your past.
Childcare facilities can be provided if booked in advance.
