Craig Murray, former ambassador to Uzbekistan, will lecture at the University of Dundee this
evening (Monday 21st February).
Murray, who has announced that he will stand against Jack Straw at the general election will
address an audience of staff and students tonight at 6.30pm in the Baxter conference suite.
The ex-ambassador will deliver a lecture entitled "Torture for Oil: US Policy in Central Asia".
Murray is a University of Dundee graduate.
Head of the politics department Dr Norrie MacQueen said: "We're really pleased to have Craig back
with us. It's always great to have the previous generation of Dundee students come to speak to the
next - but all the more so when they have something as strong and challenging to say as Craig
does."
