I want to be a spaceman
Photo opportunity 1.15pm, Friday 6 February, Bonar Hall, Park Place, Dundee.
A real live spaceman will greet 450 Dundee schoolchildren at the University of Dundee this Friday as he
delivers a special lecture to them about his adventures in space.
Piers Sellers, the only UK born astronaut is visiting the University of Dundee to deliver the second in this
year's Saturday Evening Lecture Series this weekend. But such was the demand from children to hear the
astronaut that Piers agreed to put on a special talk for them.
Wearing his NASA jump suit the astronaut will deliver his talk to a capacity audience in the Bonar Hall with
children from Dundee primary schools: Blackness, Our Lady's, Mill of Mains, St Mary's, St Joseph's, St Fergus, Rosebank, Charleston, Mossgiel, Ancrum Road
and St Margaret's.
Piers said: "There is such enthusiasm and intrigue about space among children that Friday afternoon is going
to be a highlight of my visit to Scotland."
Piers Sellars will deliver the second of the Saturday Evening Lectures on Saturday 7 February at 6pm in the
Bonar Hall. The lecture entitled "Flying in Space" will look at the future of space exploration explaining
how NASA is aiming to complete the exploration of the solar system and develop further manned expeditions to
Mars and, maybe, beyond. The lecture is free and open to the public.
