Virtual training for nurses
40 delegates from around 14 countries will gather in Edinburgh this weekend 28th February - 1st March) to
discuss the next stage of the University of Dundee's e-learning medical training initiative IVINURS -
International Virtual Nursing.
The proposal to virtually train nurses over the internet and through distance learning materials allowing
students to remain and train in their home countries will be discussed at the Holyrood Hotel Edinburgh by
delegates from the USA, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, Spain and Iceland.
The IVINURS proposals come on the back of the initial success of IVIMEDS - the programme to train doctors
virtually - and is being set up for nurses by nurses.
Delegates will discuss e-learning and distance learning and attend workshops with prospective partners in the
IVINURS project. They hope to chart a way forward for the project at the conference.
