RSA Student Award Winners
University of Dundee students have scooped three prestigious awards at the Royal Scottish Academy Student
Exhibition 2004.
The following fourth year Fine Art students from the University's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and
Design (DJCAD) were given awards at a ceremony at the RSA, Edinburgh, on Saturday 21 February:
RSA Sculpture Prize - Emma Pratt (entitled Let Them Run) £400
RSA Landscape Award - Jane Mitchell (Caesium - 137 Contamination) £100
Rendevous Gallery/Linda Nolan Award - Simon Reekie (Self Portrait) £400
The RSA Student Exhibition provides a platform each year for a new wave of artists to publicly display their
work prior to embarking on their careers. This year the Exhibition returns to the upper galleries of the
Royal Scottish Academy building after a two year absence.
The Exhibition is an exciting opportunity for the public to sample the progress of final year and post-graduate
students of painting, sculpture, printmaking and architecture from the four Colleges/Schools of Art and six
Schools/Departments of Architecture in Scotland.
With around 280 works - 53 from DJCAD students - the show is a glimpse of what to expect at the Degree shows
later this year. With three awards bagged, DJCAD Degree Show at the end of May promises to be a visual feast
displaying the excellence and innovation the Dundee art school is renowned for.
