Chris van der Kuyl, President and Chief Executive of VIS entertainment plc and graduate of the University of Dundee will return to his alma mater on Saturday to map out the future of digital entertainment and explain Dundee's role in the industry's development.
Chris will deliver the latest topical lecture in the University's Saturday evening public lecture series. "Virtual Horses - the future of digital entertainment" will take place in the Tower extension lecture theatre at 7pm on Saturday 9 February.
Chris: "The entertainment world is changing. Videogames are now the most successful form of entertainment out selling even Hollywood. Scotland is one of the key centres in the world for Videogames and Dundee is Scotland's key centre."
Chris will talk about the past, present and future of the Videogames industry and discuss why that future is being created in Dundee. He will also provide and insight into VIS iTV the joint venture between VIS and Telewest which will change TV and Horseracing forever !"
Professor Alan Newell, Chris' mentor at the University and head of the applied computing department will chair the lecture.
This is the penultimate lecture in this year's winter series. Professor Mark Chaplain will conclude the programme next week with a fascinating explanation of how cancer growth can be predicted with the use of mathematical models. "Can Calculus Cure Cancer?" will take place on Saturday 16 February./ENDS
