Students of the University of Dundee's Faculty of Education & Social Work now have access to state-of-the-art computer equipment in a brand new IT suite.
The £63,000 suite is the latest development of the recent merger of Northern College with the University. It will be officially opened at the University's Gardyne Road campus by Faculty Dean Professor Ron Elder and the University's Director of IT, Richard Murphy.
The 28 new PCs and cutting-edge data projection facilities have been warmly welcomed by staff and students.
Professor Elder said, "The establishment of the new Faculty of Education and Social Work on the Gardyne Road campus in December 2001 created many enhanced learning opportunities for the students.
"This new IT suite provides additional state-of-the-art IT facilities within the campus. The suite is part of an integrated provision throughout the campus that provides high quality teaching facilities with data projection and integrated open access to meet students' IT needs."
The suite can be booked by staff as a teaching room and is openly accessible to students at all other times.
Professor Elder can be contacted on 01382 464202 or at the IT suite opening on Wednesday.
