The University of Dundee orchestra and choir will perform Mozart's requiem and Mendelssohn's symphony no. 5 on Sunday night (3 March) in their first concert in the atmospheric venue of St Paul's Episcopal cathedral.
Orchestra leader and second year medical student Simon Carter decided that the gravity of the programme and the increased size of both music groups deserved a more powerful acoustic so chose St Paul's cathedral where the University holds its Christmas carol service.
This is the annual spring concert for the University music society which has been rehearsing since Christmas to perform Mendelssohn's lively reformation symphony and Mozart's last work and possibly greatest work.
Tickets are priced £5 or £3 concessions and are available from Graeme Stevenson, University music co-ordinator on 01382 348148 or on the door./ENDS
