Dr Audrey Duncan of the Institute of Sport and Exercise at the University of Dundee is the sports scientist and strength and conditioning expert to the Scottish Curling team.
Her work with the squad has involved extensive sports science testing and detailed programming of strength and conditioning sessions. Some of these sessions took place in the Institute of Sport and Exercise at the University of Dundee.
Audrey said "I am absolutely delighted for Rhona Martin and her rink. Their outstanding performance is a reflection of the commitment and determination to training demonstrated by the squad in the build up to the Olympics. It is also an indication of the need for a highly structured expert support network for creating champions. Through the structure of the Scottish Institute of Sport, the team has had access to the countries top coaching expertise; perfomance analysts; sports psychologists; sports nutritionists and sports medicince support. I am glad the Institute of Sport and Exercise has been intergral to this network. It is superb that the team have achieved their goal of a gold medal"
