University statement on the death of Jennifer Ross
The University community was deeply saddened this morning to learn of
the death of Jennifer Ross. Moria Calder, head of the School of Management
and Consumer Studies said: " It is with great sadness and deep regret that
our staff and students learned today of the tragic loss of one of our third
year students, Jennifer Ross.
Jennifer was an undergraduate student reading for a degree in
Food and Welfare Studies. Throughout her years in the department
she was diligent, committed and hard-working, ever showing enthusiasm
for her studies and a dogged resolve to finish her degree regardless of the
many personal difficulties and problems she had to overcome. To those
who knew her she was a
sensitive, highly intelligent and courageous person.
Jennifer's natural warmth and genuine interest in others will be sadly
missed by the numerous friends and colleagues she leaves behind. The
University extends its sympathy to her family and close friends at this
difficult time."
