Nicholas Parsons, Chairman of BBC Radio 4's Just a Minute comedy programme will arrive at the University of Dundee early tomorrow evening before the recording of the comedy show to switch on the University's Christmas tree lights in front of an audience of over 200 in the Geddes Quadrangle.
Parsons, who has been chairing the comedy show since it started 35 years ago will switch on the lights on the University Christmas tree accompanied by the University choir and brass quintet led by second year medical student Scott Jamieson.
The audience for the Just a Minute recording in the Bonar Hall will gather in the Geddes Quadrangle to see the switch on before making their way over to the Bonar Hall for the recording of the show. The gathering will be treated to festive songs from the University choir, a glass of mulled wine for the cold evening and mince pies, gifted for the occasion by local Baker, Alan Clark.
The Bonar Hall audience will be treated to a festive evening of comedy from panelists Maria McErlane, Gyles Brandreth, Nick Revell and University Rector Fred MacAulay.
The Geddes Quadrangle was named after Patrick Geddes, the father of town planning and one of the first professors of the institution that became the University of Dundee.
