Fundraising Cakes

The sponge wasn't the only thing that was raised during a novelty cake competition organised by the University of Dundee's Exhibitions department.

The department's Cake Expo raised £116 for local charity Dreamcatchers, a community group for adults with learning disabilities, their families and friends.

Catherine Doig, Dreamcatchers office assistant, was invited to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design today, December 18, to accept the donation from Donna Lovell of Exhibitions.

Donna said, "We feel it is important to support local charities and are delighted to be able to lend out support to such a worthwhile one."

Abby Loveland, Dreamcatchers outreach worker said, "The group has been operating for around a year and half and our aim is to help people with learning disabilities and autism to make friends and lead as normal a life as possible. We're very grateful for the support Exhibitions has shown us."
