Photo opportunity 10.00am, Sunday 22 October, Ethie Castle, Auchmithie, by Arbroath (start of race)
The University of Dundee team are getting ready for this years TICR trek and fun day on Sunday 22 August
at Ethie Castle, Auchmithie. Dundee's Lord Provost will join the University team and scores of other
walkers including Scouts from across Tayside to take part in the fundraising trek.
Trek organisers are hoping that lots of people will take part and raise money for the Institute of
Cardiovascular Research (TICR) at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee and at the same time reduce their own
chances of heart disease.
The trek will start at 10.00am and is open to all the family with three, six and nine mile options
available to suit different abilities. For those who opt not to walk plenty of entertainment is onsite
at the castle. A raft of refreshments are available including a spit-roast barbecue and freshly
prepared 'Arbroath Smokies' from Spinks of Arbroath.
TICR aims to bring together on one site clinicians and researchers with expertise in cardiovascular
disease to create a centre of excellence tackling Scotland's number one killer heart disease.
