International acquaintances forged just last week in Dundee, Scotland will be renewed half way around the world in Vietnam next week as Gillian Ashby from the University of Dundee meets up with students from Vietnam who visited Dundee on 24 March with the British Council's trip of a lifetime to the UK.
Gillian will meet the students when she gives presentations in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. She has invited the students and their families to attend the presentations. The University of Dundee hosted 32 students from Brazil, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jordan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Malaysia for a day showing them the best of teaching and research including hands on sessions in clinical and surgical skills and a taste of digital imaging used for art and design and clinical surgery.
This is Gillian's second visit to Vietnam. She first travelled there in November 2002 visiting high schools and identifying prospective students.
Vietnam is one of the University of Dundee's target countries for recruiting students this year.
