Curated by Mark Holden (2nd Year Fine Art) and Sabine Klaus (2nd Year Time-based Art), this exhibition brings together the work of thirteen 2nd and 3rd Year DJCAD students from the School of Fine Art and Television and Imaging, showing their differing approaches to the central unifying theme of identity. Sculpture, painting, installation and performance are brought together to tackle the big questions of who we are and how we see ourselves and others.
Blurring the generations of one family, Myra Galliker's digital prints are a composite portrait of one face utilizing images of her grandmother, mother, eldest daughter and herself. In Nick Waring's 'Golden Jubilee 1952-2002', the artist (born in Golden Jubilee Year) has assembled a grid of photograph portraits of himself from each year from birth to present day. In Mark Holden's evocative piece 'Hospitalized', the word 'trust' is formed from the contents of a First Aid Box.
This exhibition runs until 3 May.
