The Dundee University Cricket Club will host a 24-hour cricket match to raise money for the Dundee
Disabled Children's Association (DDCA) and the club itself.
At 11.00am on Friday April 15 around 60 players from several different clubs across Dundee will
take part, with the team with the most runs after 24 hours winning the competition. Dundee Lord
Provost John Letford will lend his support to the players along with other supporters.
The event takes place at the Riverside hockey pitches and the money raised will be split equally
between DDCA and the club.
Paul Geoghegan, the University's Cricket Club Captain explains, "he Dundee Disabled Children's
Association are planning to move to a brand new purpose built facility on the outskirts of the city
and we would like to be able to contribute towards the considerable cost of this. The building will
make a huge difference to the work of the DDCA does and will have a hugely positive impact on the
lives of many local children.
"The remaining money will go towards buying new equipment for the club so we can continue to
attract new members.
We would be delighted for members of the public to come along and support us in this local
challenge."
