Graduates invited to take part in project
Researchers at the University of Dundee are investigating the post-graduation experiences of former
University Access Summer School students.
The Sutton Graduates Project, part of the University's Wider Access Study Centre is now in the final stages
of research, gathering detailed evidence from students' post-graduation experiences. The research will
reveal the employment opportunities for graduates who took part in the University's Access programme compared
with those who entered higher education via the traditional method based on school examination performance.
The Access Summer School aims to help people, regardless of their background into University. Celebrating
its tenth anniversary last year, over 800 students have graduated from the University of Dundee after
completing the ten-week course.
The research findings will add to the ongoing public debate on widening participation in Universities and
could help inform and guide university policy on widening access and have a profound effect on future Access
Summer Schools.
The Wider Access Study Centre is keen to hear from Access Summer School participants who have now graduated
from the University to arrange a short interview. Interviews are informal and all information will be
treated as confidential.
