The University of Dundee has become a sponsor of UK ice hockey champions the Dundee Texol Stars.
The University logo will be displayed rink-side and on the sleeves of the team jerseys for the 2002/2003 season.
The team already enjoys a close relationship with the University - several international players recently visited the Centre for Applied Language Studies to meet students from their own countries.
Gordon Craig, Director of Admissions and Student Recruitment at the University said, 'The University promotes itself right across the UK. We are delighted to be working with the Dundee Texol Stars who play throughout the UK to take our name to a wider audience, where their success on the rink and our reputation for serious learning and a great student life will complement each other.'
As spokesman for Texol Stars said today, 'We are delighted to enter this partnership with another major organisation from the City of Discovery and look forward to a long and fruitful association.'
Mr Craig will visit Dundee Ice Arena, home to the Texol Stars, on Tuesday April 2 to meet the players and seal the partnership.
