photo opportunity, 12.30pm, Friday April 26, Tower Foyer, University of Dundee
If you fancy a whistle-stop journey through Germany, the University of Dundee is the place to be on Friday, April 26.
The University's Centre for Applied Language Studies (CALS) is hosting events with a German flavour throughout the day, beginning with a traditional food tasting session in the Tower Foyer at 10am.
Celebrations of German culture will be ongoing in the Tower Foyer, featuring a photographic exhibition about the German landscape and a Bach and Beethoven flute concert at 12.30pm performed by CALS' own tutor Hilary Ashe-Roy and University student Joanne Wilcock.
The exhibition, entitled "German Lanscapes: A Journey Through Germany" has been supplied by the Goethe Institute in Glasgow which promotes German language and culture through education and events. Colourful scenes of everyday German life from Rothenburg to the Rhone are displayed.
The music continues in the University Chaplaincy, Cross Row, at 1pm with an accordion concert performed by CALS tutor Scott McDonald.
Gabi Napier, German tutor at the Centre for Applied Language Studies, said, "We hope to raise people's awareness about the diverse German landscape and the country's rich culture to encourage more people to sign up to the German language courses we offer here at the University."
"German Lanscapes: A Journey Through Germany" runs until May 20.
