Computer Games: what's hot and what's not?

The University of Dundee is to host the next British Computer Society (Tayside) talk on Thursday 18 April at 6.30pm with special guest speakers from Visual Sciences Ltd, Dundee, who will be giving the low down on cutting edge console games.

Stuart Capewell and Dave Paterson from Visual Sciences Ltd, the most experienced next-generation console developers in Scotland, recently developed their second Xbox game, F1 2002 for EA Sports, which arrived in the shops last week, and are awaiting publication of their 3rd PS2 and 1st GameCube title.

Dave Paterson, resident audio programming expert, and Stuart Capewell, programming manager, will be co- hosting the talk and will discuss: How games programming differ from "real- world" programming, how console programming differ from PC games programming and how the arrival of high-powered next-generation consoles affected console games development?
