The latest research by students of engineering and physics will be on display at a special exhibition of their work at the University of Dundee tomorrow. As well as student research, the Dundee Satellite Receiving Station which sends data to environmental agencies all over the UK will be open for visiting.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students in the departments of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physics are displaying projects which are the result of their years of research at the University of Dundee. Projects range from the development of a motorised ring pull opener to a portable fatigue testing machine. Students will be on hand to demonstrate and explain their work.
Professor Sandy Fitzgerald, Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Physics said: "The exhibition is the culmination of a year's work for the students. It is a great opportunity for them to explain their research to local industrial representatives, external examiners and the visiting public. With local industry present, there is always the possibility that some students' research will be developed in the commercial environment."
The exhibition runs from 2pm -5pm on Wednesday 25th April in the Ewing Building at the University of Dundee. The Satellite Receiving Station, the Electron Microscopy Suite and the Microelectronics Facility will be open on request.ENDS
