DUSA's Marathon Radio Show
Four keen student radio presenters will this weekend take on the challenge of completing 55 hours of continuous live radio
broadcasting from Dundee University Students' Association (DUSA) in aid of this year's Raising and Giving (RAG) Campaign.
The four presenters - Craig Donoghue, Hamda Madar, Lottie Haley-Lee and Tim Hustler - will begin their marathon show at
4:59pm on Friday 4th October and will conclude the show at 11:59pm Sunday 6th October. The show will feature interviews
with both University and DUSA personalities as well as appearances from guest bands such as Model Aeroplanes, The Weight
of Atlas, Blindsiders, Outside Aurora, Silent Mutiny and Waiting on Jack.
Other features will include stand-up comedy and Find-Tim-a-Date as well as numerous games and challenges with prizes
to be won.
This is the first major event to be held by DUSA as part of this year's Raising and Giving Campaign. The chosen cause this
year is the local Help for Kids charity founded by Wave 102 and the Overgate. The charity aims to make the lives of
sick and disadvantaged children in Dundee better, safer and happier.
Presenter Tim Hustler said, 'The thought of continuously broadcasting for 55 hours is both daunting and exciting
but nonetheless I look forward to the relentless challenge that this weekend is going to be. Knowing that we are
contributing towards such a worthwhile charity makes it all that more rewarding.'
'This year I feel very privileged to be able to kick off the Raising and Giving (RAG) Effort with such a large scale event,'
said Douglas Schreiber, Vice President of Student Activities and RAG co-ordinator. 'We have never tried anything like
this before in DUSA so the prospect is slightly scary which makes it all that more important that everyone gets behind the team.'
